The Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission release a Sector Performance Report on a quarterly basis.
The top 5 complaint issues have remained consistent for the past four quarters. Of the top five, care and coordination (Care Management) remains the third most complained about issue. Complaints about fees and charges regularly account for three out of the top five most complained about issues.
Last year, the Australian Government introduced a cap on fees, which is 35% of the Home Care Package subsidy.
Why is Care and Package Management Charged?
These charges are deducted from the funding available. You may see these charges entered on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis on your Home Care Package Statement. These charges primarily account for a large portion of your provider's income, and it is in everyone's interest for it to be sustainable financially. Whilst this may be the case, the charges do need to be reasonable.
See The Difference
Many Home Care Providers charge Care and Package Management at around 30% on average. See below for some comparisons and how much you could save by choosing Crisden Care's model, which means more funds to spend supporting you to stay at home.
